Part 3: Troubleshooting Common Installation and Reset Issues 1. The Installer Cannot Find the Printer Over Wi-Fi
Never rely on old installation discs, as they contain outdated software.
The installer will search for your printer on the network. If your printer was previously reset, follow the on-screen prompts to connect it to your local Wi-Fi network using the Epson Smart Panel app on your phone, or via temporary USB connection.
The ET-2400 only connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router uses a combined single SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, temporarily split them in your router settings or use a USB cable for the initial setup.
What are you using? (Windows 11, macOS, etc.) How are you connecting the printer ? (Wi-Fi or USB cable?)
Disconnect any USB cables connecting the printer to your computer.
It's worth noting that users have reported that for the ET-2400, resetting the waste ink counter without physically replacing the saturated pads may lead to overflows, potentially causing damage to the printer's internal components. Because of this, it's highly recommended that you consider installing an , sometimes called a "printer potty" kit, and physically replacing the porous pad assembly (OEM part number 1749772) to ensure safe operation.
Ensure your computer and printer are on the exact same Wi-Fi frequency. The ET-2400 connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi bands , not 5GHz bands. Temporarily separate or rename your router's 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands if the software fails to locate the device.

Over time, the sponge pads inside the printer that collect excess ink during printhead cleanings become saturated. When this happens, the printer will stop functioning and display an error stating that "a printer's ink pad is at the end of its service life."
